Amid the roar of over 300 motorcycles simultaneously starting their engines on Saturday morning, Brad Smith started his own bike as he participated in the 10th annual Bell Motorcycle Ride for Dad fundraiser for Prostate Cancer research. The event has become a Thunder Bay favorite for cycling enthusiasts on Father's Day, raising over $550,000 over the past ten years.

This year's event raised $78,000 with participation at an all time participation high this year of 346 registrants and over 300 motorcycles. Events such as this one help provide life-saving cancer equipment, technology and treatment programs throughout the region. The Bell Motorcycle Ride for Dad supports various prostate cancer awareness campaigns which aim to provide education on risk factors and encourage early screening to reduce instances of prostate cancer in Northwestern Ontario.
