Brad Smith practices in the areas of Labour Relations (management side), Employment Law and related Civil Litigation (family law). He recently completed training in Collaborative Family Law. He also defends clients charged with Provincial Offences related to Environmental Law, Occupational Health and Safety, Dangerous Goods and Highway Traffic.
Brad has a B.Sc. (Chemistry) from the University of Western Ontario and an LL.B. from the University of Toronto. He was called to the Bar in 1993 and has practiced at Weilers since that time. He was admitted to the partnership in 1999.
Brad serves his clients with confidence, pride and determination to help them obtain the best possible result. Born in Manitoba, Brad is a status Cree and has a special interest in serving Aboriginal clients .
Brad is presently a member of the Thunder Bay Chapter of the Industrial Accident Prevention Association (IAPA). Brad is a past member of the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital Ethics Team, and the Board of Beendigen Inc., an Aboriginal organization that provides non-profit and crisis housing for Aboriginal women. Brad has also been a member of the Board of Shelter House and a participant in its annual fundraiser, the 24-Hour Corporate Relay. Brad actively contributes to many of Weilers' fundraising activities, and is a team member in the Dragon Boat Race, Big Bike (for the Heart and Stroke Foundation) and other fundraising events.
