The partners of Weiler, Maloney, Nelson are pleased to announce the appointment of Fred Bickford to the Certified Specialist Board of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
The Certified Specialist Board is part of the Law Society’s Professional Development and Competence Committee. It establishes standards for the certification of lawyer licensees and is responsible for determining the areas of law in which lawyers may be certified. It also develops approval policies relating to the certification of lawyers as specialists.
The 10-member Board is composed of lawyers from across Ontario. The appointment is for a period of three years.
Fred Bickford has 35 years of experience in Labour and Employment Law and has been a partner with the firm since 1976. He has been designated by The Law Society of Upper Canada as a Certified Specialist (Labour Law) since 1997.
Fred is a Director of the Thunder Bay Law Association, an elected representative of the Ontario Bar Association for Northwestern Ontario and serves on the Executive of the Labour Relations Section of the Ontario Bar Association.
FredĀ is Editor-in-Chief of the national publication, Management Rights, published by Federated Press, which is devoted to labour relations issues.
