Rosalee Evans

Rosalie and her husband “Coach” Ken have made Thunder Bay their permanent home since arriving in 2003. In addition to their busy professional lives (Ken is a self employed plumber) and their many volunteer hours (Ken as a hockey coach and Rosalie as a Sunday School teacher), they care for a 10-acre hobby farm with a resident horse and pony, and enjoy exploring the many lakes in Northwestern Ontario by boat in summer, and the many fields and trails in the area on cross-country skis in winter.

A long-time advocate of “plain language” and access to justice, Rosalie strives to help make the complex legal world understandable to clients and the general public. Her twenty one years of practice as in-house counsel to Ontario municipalities (most recently, The City of Thunder Bay) have given Rosalie a unique perspective. She sees the “big picture” and understands that legal issues exist within a business, a corporation, a community. These skills are equally applicable and transferable to private legal practice, where clients will appreciate both her warm sense of humour and her practicality.

Rosalie was called to the bar in 1989 after graduating from Queen’s University Faculty of Law. Rosalie is on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Municipal Reciprocal Insurance Exchange, and is the past President of the Municipal Law Departments Association of Ontario.
