Shannon Burkinshaw is a determined advocate, but secretly, also a devotee of all things Disney.  This balanced approach to her own life enables Shannon to help clients assess their priorities, and develop plans to achieve those goals.  Shannon is the type of lawyer that people want today – she has a warm, outgoing personality which puts clients at ease, yet is a true professional through and through.  Her legal knowledge and skill are quickly earning her a reputation for effective results.

Shannon was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, obtaining her B.A. from the University of British Columbia in 2004.  She moved to Toronto, Ontario to attend Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, and graduated in 2007.  While there, she volunteered as a Facilitator for presentations to youth in local schools, informing them of their legal rights.

Shannon moved to Thunder Bay after graduation, and was called to the bar in 2008.  Shannon joined Weilers in 2009.  Her practice focuses in the area of Family Law, as well as in Civil Litigation and Labour Relations and Employment Law. She has recently completed training in Collaborative Family Law.

Shannon enjoys many things about Thunder Bay, especially the people and the pace of life.  In her spare time, Shannon is an avid photographer.  She has a seven-year-old Chihuahua named Tangerine, whom she rescued four years ago in Toronto.   While Shannon is thrilled to have made home in Thunder Bay, Tangerine is less than thrilled about the northern winters.  Having adopted one furry member into her family, Shannon is now also a volunteer foster parent for the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue and Transport Agency
