This is something each and every one of us at Weilers asks at this time of the year. So this is what we have done ...
The Salvation Army contacted the firm in November to inquire if we would staff the Kettle – something we have traditionally done since 2005. This year we chose Wednesday, December 7, with the location being Superstore. We are proud to advise that staff and lawyers alike volunteered to take shifts, and all volunteers were impressed once again how generous Thunder Bay can be. Over $880.00 was raised - the high spot of the day.
This year Weilers has also adopted a family of 5 (3 children and 2 adults) from the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) Hamper Program. The response was overwhelming from both staff and lawyers, and donations of toys, clothing, household goods and gift certificates flooded in. Every picture tells a story.
Chris Von Bargen and Elaina Roberts of the KGS Group approached Weiler, Maloney, Nelson a month ago to inquire if we would be interested in participating in a fundraiser (and we were!) which they dubbed “Fill A Cubicle”. They visited all the tenants in the Balmoral Commons building, inviting each to participate, and had a great response from MPAC, RBC, J. D. Barnes and the Northco Group. All toys will be donated to “Toys for Tots”, and all food contributions will find their way to the Shelter House. Elaina and Chris recently advised that the cubicle is filling up nicely, with the last day for donations being December 20.
The founders of Weiler, Maloney, Nelson have always believed in investing in our community, and they have served as distinguished role models for those who work at Weilers today. We continue to carry on their good work to make our great community even better.
The lawyers and staff at Weilers wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas, filled with peace and joy this Festive Season.
